Do you want to help support Guide Dogs of the Desert?Every puppy at Guide Dogs of the Desert begins their journey with careful medical screening. Hip and elbow radiographs ensure strong joints. Thoracic and abdominal images help us catch issues early, so dogs can live long, healthy lives as partners to people who are blind or visually impaired
When our previous x-ray machine broke, we had to start sending dogs off-site for imaging.
Each outsourced radiograph costs $500 per dog. With
75 puppies each year, that’s at least $37,500 – and
that doesn’t include additional imaging for illness or injury.
This Giving Tuesday project is part of our larger $200,000 Medical Equipment
Campaign, launched to fully re-equip our Veterinary Hospital after its closure
during COVID-19. With our hospital now reopened, this x-ray machine will be one of the
most important tools supporting our veterinary team and every guide dog we serve.
Medical Fundraiser
Do you want to help support Guide Dogs of the Desert? We need you to continue our mission of providing independence and mobility to people who are blind through use of a Guide Dog.
We just re-opened our veterinary hospital to help reduce our veterinary care costs. As our hospital was closed due to COVID, we need $200,000 to update medical equipment and to care for the extraordinary dogs who save lives every day. Caring for guide dogs from birth to retirement demands the best.
Please Help.
